How to use it

หมีmǐi has a rising tone; flat มีmii means "to have". Thailand's wild bears have funny names: the sun bear is หมีหมาmǐi mǎa, "dog bear", and the Asiatic black bear หมีควายmǐi kwaai, "buffalo bear". A teddy bear is ตุ๊กตาหมีdtúk-gà-dtaa mǐi.
