to emphasise, to focus on, to stress verb
- nén high
- High: start high and go a little higher, a bit tense; don’t let it fall.
How to use it
เน้นnén is putting the weight on something: a teacher stressing a point, a café that's all about the coffee, a menu that leans towards healthy food. At a food stall, ขอเน้นผักkǎw nén pàk asks for plenty of vegetables. Doubled, เน้นๆnén-nén is "packed, generous": food ads promise meat เน้นๆnén-nén, piled high. In speech, เน้นว่าnén wâa is "to stress that…".
