How to use it
พระจันทร์เต็มดวงprá-jan dtem duang, "the moon full in its orb", is the everyday "full moon". The full moon sets the Thai festival calendar: Loy Krathong falls on the full moon of the twelfth lunar month, usually in November, and the big Buddhist holidays are full-moon days. Songs and poems use วันเพ็ญwan-pen, the full-moon day. On Ko Pha-ngan, the beach party that follows the moon is simply the ฟูลมูนปาร์ตี้fuun-muun bpaa-dtîi.
