genre, style, kind; line, direction noun
- naew mid
- Mid: level, in your normal speaking voice.
How to use it
แนวnaew is a style or a genre: of music, films, clothes, cafés. แนวไหนnaew nǎi asks "what kind?", and ไม่ใช่แนวmâi châi naew, "not the style", is a casual way to say something isn't your thing, or someone isn't your type. In writing it's also a line or a direction: แนวทางnaew taang, a way forward, a guideline. For an everyday "kind of, style", Thais also say แบบbàep.
