How to use it

กิ้งก่าgîng-gàa is the lizard of gardens and parks, often seen on a tree trunk; some of them change colour, and chameleons are กิ้งก่าgîng-gàa too. The little lizards on the walls of every house are geckos, จิ้งจกjîng-jòk, and the big ones by park lakes and canals are monitor lizards.

Someone who turns arrogant after a little success is a กิ้งก่าได้ทองgîng-gàa dâi tawng, "a lizard that got gold".
