How to use it
แสดงsà-daeng is performing for an audience: acting in a film or a TV drama, dancing on a stage, playing a concert. An actor is a นักแสดงnák-sà-daeng, "a performing person", and a show or a performance is การแสดงgaan sà-daeng. In everyday talk Thais also say เล่นlên, to play: เล่นละครlên lá-kawn, to be in a drama. On signs and forms it's the formal "show": กรุณาแสดงบัตรgà-rú-naa sà-daeng bàt, please show your card. Showing your feelings is แสดงออกsà-daeng-àwk, "show out".
