How to use it

ไปรษณีย์bprai-sà-nii is both the post office and the post itself. Signs say ที่ทำการไปรษณีย์tîi-tam-gaan bprai-sà-nii, "post office building", but in speech it's just ไปรษณีย์bprai-sà-nii, and Thailand Post is ไปรษณีย์ไทยbprai-sà-nii tai.

The spelling hides the sound: say bprai-sà-nii, with an unaspirated bpr and a silent last letter. Post offices sell boxes and tape, so you can pack a พัสดุpát-sà-dù (parcel) at the counter.
