How to use it

หนูnǔu covers both rats and mice. It's also a warm word for people: girls and young women often call themselves หนูnǔu ("I") when talking to older people, and adults call a child or a young woman หนูnǔu ("you"), the way Pa Daeng the food vendor talks to you. Nobody hears a rodent in that.

A computer mouse is เมาส์máo, from English.
