to run (Isan); to sail, to speed along (boats, cars) verb
- lâen falling
- Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”
Central Thai for running is วิ่งwîng.
You'll hear it in Dod Di Dong (โดดดิด่ง).
How to use it
แล่นlâen is moving smoothly and fast along a course: a boat sailing, เรือแล่นruea lâen, or cars speeding down a highway. Sailing a boat yourself is แล่นเรือlâen ruea; a sailing boat is a เรือใบruea-bai, and its sail a ใบเรือbai-ruea. In Isan and Lao, แล่นlâen is the everyday word for "to run", where Central Thai says วิ่งwîng: that's its meaning in BNK48's mor lam song.
