เตี้ย dtîa
short (not tall); low (a table, a wall) adjective
- dtîa falling
- Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”
How to use it
เตี้ยdtîa is short in height: a person, a stool, a low wall. Short in length, like hair, a skirt or a trip, is a different word, สั้นsân. Friends tease each other with เตี้ยdtîa freely, but politely Thais say someone is ตัวเล็กdtua lék, "small-bodied", or ไม่ค่อยสูงmâi kâwy sǔung, not very tall.
