How to use it

แย่yâe is everyday "bad": terrible weather, an awful day, a lousy meal. It doubles as sympathy and alarm: แย่จังyâe jang, "that's too bad", when a friend tells you bad news, and แย่แล้วyâe láew, "oh no!", when you realise your phone is still in the taxi. Worse is แย่กว่าyâe gwàa and the worst แย่ที่สุดyâe tîi-sùt.
