How to use it

ผอมpǎwm is thin, for people and animals, and Thais say it as a compliment as often as a worry: ผอมลงpǎwm long, "you've slimmed down". Thin things, like paper, fabric or a slice of pork, use another word: เสื้อบางsûea baang is a thin top and ผ้าบางpâa baang thin cloth.

Don't mix it up
