Ter Rewatเต๋อ เรวัต

What the song is about

ที่แล้วก็แล้วไปtîi láew gâw láew bpai, “Thi Laeo Ko Laeo Pai (Let Bygones Be Bygones)”, is a classic Thai song by Ter Rewat (1983). Ter Rewat, who co-founded GMM Grammy, tells the woman he loves that her past doesn't matter: drop it, start again, what's done is done. The title is an everyday Thai saying, and the lines teach to try, better, to throw away, to start again, possible and how to tell someone to relax. HBO's The White Lotus played it in episode 6 of its Thailand season.

The culture behind it

Rewat Buddhinan (เรวัตพุทธินันทน์ree-wát pút-tí-nan, 1948–1996), known as Ter, sang with The Impossibles in the 1970s and in 1983 founded Grammy Entertainment, today's GMM Grammy, with Paiboon Damrongchaitham, running its music side (Thai Wikipedia). "ที่แล้วก็แล้วไปtîi láew gâw láew bpai" is on his first solo album, Ter 1 (1983); he wrote the words, and Ukrit Phlangkun the music (the video's credits). The video shows him on stage, with the moustache that was his trademark (Thai Wikipedia).

The title is an everyday saying, and the song gives it a kind twist: whatever mistakes she made in love before, he doesn't care, and nobody should rub them in. In March 2025 HBO's The White Lotus played it in episode 6, 'Denials', as Fabian, the resort's manager, drives a buggy around the grounds in the morning (Tunefind; Lifestyle Asia). Episode 4 had another of his songs, มันแปลกดีนะman bplàek dii ná ('it's strange, isn't it').
