Amen in Thai

“Amen” in Thai is สาธุsǎa-tú.

สาธุ sǎa-tú

amen; well said interjection

  • sǎa rising
  • tú high
  • Rising: start low, dip, then rise to the top, like a doubtful “Really?”
  • High: start high and go a little higher, a bit tense; don’t let it fall.

How to use it

สาธุsǎa-tú, from the Pali sādhu ("good, well done"), is the Buddhist "amen": people say it with their palms together after a blessing or a prayer, and online it's a way of saying "so be it" to a good wish. In church, Thai Christians say อาเมนaa-meen.
