“Apart” in Thai is ห่างhàang.

ห่าง hàang

away (from), at a distance adjective

  • hàang low
  • Low: flat and lower than your normal voice, dropping a little at the end.

How to use it

ห่างhàang is the distance between two things: ห่างจากhàang jàak, away from, is how listings say how far a hotel is from the beach or the skytrain. ห่างกันhàang gan, "apart from each other", is about people too, and drifting apart is ห่างเหินhàang-hǒen. Distance itself is ระยะห่างrá-yá hàang, as in เว้นระยะห่างwéen rá-yá hàang, keep your distance. Simply far is ไกลglai.
