ถุงยางtǔng-yaang, a "rubber bag", is the everyday word; packets and health posters use the full ถุงยางอนามัยtǔng-yaang-à-naa-mai, "hygienic rubber bag". Every 7-Eleven and pharmacy sells them, usually near the counter.
Older Thais may call a condom a มีชัยmii-chai, after Mechai Viravaidya, whose campaigns made them a household item in the 1970s and 80s.
