How to use it
ห้องครัวhâwng-krua is the kitchen as a room; ครัวkrua on its own is the kitchen of a restaurant, or cooking itself: ครัวไทยkrua tai can mean Thai cuisine.
Many Thai houses have two kitchens: a clean indoor one for light cooking and a "Thai kitchen" at the back, often outside, for frying and pounding chilli paste. Small condos may have only a sink and a hot plate, and some buildings don't allow cooking with strong smells.
