How to use it
กุญแจgun-jae is both the key and the lock: a padlock is แม่กุญแจmâe-gun-jae, "mother key", and the key that goes with it ลูกกุญแจlûuk-gun-jae, "child key". Keys are counted with ดอกdàwk, like flowers.
Condos and hotels use a คีย์การ์ดkii-gáat for the door, the lift and the gym. If you lock yourself out, the security guard or the condo office can usually help.
