How to use it

บ้าbâa is crazy, mad or silly, with a falling tone. Among friends it's light teasing: บ้าเหรอbâa rǒe, "are you mad?", or บ้าจริงbâa jing, a mild "dammit". About someone behind their back, or with ไอ้âi in front, it's an insult, so keep it for friends. It also means mad about something: บ้าฟุตบอลbâa fút-bawn, crazy about football.

Don't mix it up

  • บ้านbâan

    house, home

With a final n: home. Drop it and you've said crazy.
