“Expert” in Thai is ผู้เชี่ยวชาญpûu-chîaw-chaan; you'll also hear เซียนsian (casual).

How to use it
ผู้เชี่ยวชาญpûu-chîaw-chaan, "a person who is skilled", is the formal word of the news, reports and job titles. In conversation, someone who really knows their stuff is a เซียนsian, from the Chinese word for an immortal: an amulet expert who can tell a fake at a glance is a เซียนพระsian prá, and a football tipster a เซียนบอลsian bawn.
