How to use it

ฟาร์มfaam, from English, is a farm with animals, and the farms people visit on a day out: sheep farms, strawberry farms, cafés with goats. Crops grow in a ไร่râi: tea, coffee, sugar cane, corn. A rice field has its own word, นาnaa, and a rice farmer is a ชาวนาchaao-naa.

ไร่râi is also how Thais measure land: one rai is 1,600 square metres, about 0.4 acres, so you'll see it in every land sale.
