How to use it
เรือข้ามฟากruea-kâam-fâak, a "boat that crosses to the other bank", is a short hop, like the little boats across the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The big boats that carry cars and coaches to islands such as Koh Samui and Koh Chang are เรือเฟอร์รี่ruea-foe-rîi. Boats are counted with ลำlam.
In the rainy season, sea crossings are sometimes cancelled when the waves are high, so leave a spare day before a flight home.
