งานอดิเรกngaan-à-dì-rèek, "spare work", is the standard word for a hobby, and "what are your hobbies?" is a classic getting-to-know-you question. Friends also just ask เวลาว่างชอบทำอะไรwee-laa wâang châwp tam à-rai, what do you like doing in your free time? A favourite answer is going out to eat, ไปกินข้าวbpai gin kâao.
