Magical in Thai

“Magical” in Thai is วิเศษwí-sèet.

วิเศษ wí-sèet

wí high
sèet low

High: start high and go a little higher, a bit tense; don’t let it fall.
Low: flat and lower than your normal voice, dropping a little at the end.

You'll hear it in Magic Rope (เชือกวิเศษ).

How to use it

วิเศษwí-sèet is magical, beyond the ordinary: a magic rope, a magic lamp, a miracle cure, ยาวิเศษyaa wí-sèet. Doraemon's gadgets are ของวิเศษkǎwng wí-sèet, magic things. Said of people or experiences it's an old-fashioned "wonderful". Magic tricks are มายากลmaa-yaa-gon, and spells and witchcraft are เวทมนตร์wêet-mon.
