How to use it

ม่วงmûang is purple, with a falling tone, and it's Saturday's colour in the Thai colours of the week. The fruit มะม่วงmá-mûang, mango, ends in the same syllable, so say สีม่วงsǐi mûang with the สีsǐi to make it clear you mean the colour. Lilac is ม่วงอ่อนmûang àwn, light purple.
