อ่อน (àwn) means soft or light, เข้ม (kêm) strong or dark. You'll also hear แก่ (gàe) for dark.

How do you say "colour" in Thai?
สี (sǐi), with a rising tone. Careful: สี่ (sìi) with a low tone is the number four. Colours are always สี + the colour word: สีแดง (sǐi daeng), red.
How do you say red in Thai?
สีแดง (sǐi daeng). After a noun you can drop สี in casual speech, but keeping it always sounds right: รถสีแดง (rót sǐi daeng), a red car.
What is the difference between ฟ้า and น้ำเงิน?
Both are blue. ฟ้า (fáa, "sky") is light or sky blue, and น้ำเงิน (náam-ngoen, literally "silver water") is dark or navy blue.
