How to use it
When you miss something, พูดอีกทีได้ไหมpûut ìik tii dâi mǎi, "could you say that again?", is the polite way to ask. Add ช้าๆcháa-cháa, slowly, and most Thais will happily repeat. อะไรนะà-rai ná, "what was that?", is the casual version.
ซ้ำsám is doing or getting the same thing again: a dish you order again, a mistake you repeat. Going over something out loud, like reading back an order, is ทวนtuan.
