How to use it

Condos, housing estates, offices and banks all have guards, who sign in visitors, take in parcels and open the gate. ยามyaam is the everyday word, but some guards hear it as a little dismissive: the respectful term, common in speech too, is the abbreviation รปภ.raw-bpaw-paw, from "security staff". To their face, call a guard ลุงlung or พี่pîi, the way you'll talk to Lung Chai at the condo in our course.
