How to use it

A ถนนคนเดินtà-nǒn-kon-doen, a "people-walking road", is a street closed to cars for an evening market of food, crafts and street musicians. Chiang Mai's Sunday market starts at Tha Phae Gate, ประตูท่าแพbprà-dtuu-tâa-pae, and runs through the old city, and many towns have one on a Saturday or Sunday.

Pattaya's nightlife strip is a different thing: Thais call it by its English name, Walking Street.
