How to use it
หมดปัญญาmòt bpan-yaa, "wits used up", is having tried everything and run out of ideas. Before a verb it means you simply can't manage it, above all for money you don't have: หมดปัญญาจ่ายmòt bpan-yaa jàai, can't possibly pay, a phrase you'll often read in the news about debts. Everyday speech also says ไม่มีปัญญาmâi mii bpan-yaa, "have no wits for it": can't afford it.
