  • àang low
  • Low: flat and lower than your normal voice, dropping a little at the end.

อ่างล้างหน้าàang láang nâa = washbasin.

How to use it

อ่างàang is any basin or tub, and what it's for comes after: a washbasin is อ่างล้างหน้าàang láang-nâa, "basin to wash the face", a kitchen sink อ่างล้างจานàang láang-jaan, "basin to wash dishes", and a bathtub อ่างอาบน้ำàang àap-náam. A reservoir is an อ่างเก็บน้ำàang gèp náam, a basin that keeps water. Most Thai bathrooms have a shower, not a tub.

In the alphabet song, อaw is อ่างàang, the basin, the second-to-last consonant.
