- nâa falling
- Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”
You'll hear it in Mahalai Wua Chon (มหาลัยวัวชน).
How to use it
ก้มหน้าgôm-nâa, "lower the face", is looking down: at your phone, at your feet out of shyness, or in shame, and also bearing what you can't change, as in ก้มหน้ารับกรรมgôm-nâa ráp gam, to accept your fate. A world where everyone stares at a screen wherever they go is a สังคมก้มหน้าsǎng-kom gôm-nâa, a heads-down society, and ก้มหน้าก้มตาgôm-nâa-gôm-dtaa is keeping your head down and getting on with the work. Its opposite is เงยหน้าngoei-nâa, to look up.
