แม่บ้านmâe-bâan, the "mother of the house", is a housewife, and also the cleaner who comes to your condo, the cleaning staff in an office and hotel housekeeping. People call her พี่pîi or ป้าbpâa rather than by the job title. In a hotel, having your room cleaned is ทำห้องtam hâwng, "doing the room".
