How to use it
ลูกผู้ชายlûuk-pûu-chaai, literally "male child", is a man in the old-fashioned, honourable sense: one who keeps his word, owns up to his mistakes and stands by others. คำพูดลูกผู้ชายkam-pûut lûuk-pûu-chaai, a man's word, is a promise he keeps, as in Loso's song. Friends use it to egg each other on or to tease. A son is simply ลูกชายlûuk-chaai, and a man in general ผู้ชายpûu-chaai.
