How to use it

ได้รับdâi-ráp is "to receive" in emails, forms, shop chats and the news: ได้รับอีเมลแล้วdâi-ráp ii-mew láew, I've received the email. With a word for what happened to someone it works like an English passive: ได้รับบาดเจ็บdâi-ráp bàat-jèp, to be injured, and ได้รับอนุญาตdâi-ráp à-nú-yâat, to be allowed.

In a quick chat, "got it" is ได้แล้วdâi láew, and taking something someone hands you is รับráp.
