ไวรัสwai-rát is flat, then high, and it's counted with ตัวdtua, like animals: ไวรัสตัวนี้wai-rát dtua níi, this virus. Catching one is ติดdtìt, to catch, to stick: people, phones and computers all ติดไวรัสdtìt wai-rát. A germ in general is เชื้อchúea, and an infection ติดเชื้อdtìt-chúea.
