All over in Thai

“All over” in Thai is ทั่วtûa.

ทั่ว tûa

all over, throughout adverb

  • tûa falling
  • Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”

How to use it

ทั่วtûa before a place is "all over, throughout": ทั่วโลกtûa lôok, all over the world; ทั่วประเทศtûa bprà-têet, nationwide. ทั่วไปtûa-bpai, "spread all over", is "general, ordinary": คนทั่วไปkon tûa-bpai, ordinary people, the general public. Everywhere is ทุกที่túk tîi: หาทุกที่แล้วhǎa túk tîi láew, I've looked everywhere. Mind the breathy t and the falling tone: ตัวdtua, with a hard dt, is a body.

Don't mix it up

  • ตัวdtua

body; counting word for animals, clothes, tables and chairs

Hard dt, mid tone: a body, and the counting word for animals.
