How to use it

ประธานbprà-taan is the chair or president of a body: a company, a committee, a club, a community, the student council. Thai ceremonies, from a school sports day to a shop opening, have a ประธานbprà-taan too, the guest of honour who presides and opens the event.

The president of a country is a ประธานาธิบดีbprà-taa-naa-tí-baw-dii; Thailand itself has none, since the King is head of state.
