How to use it
Thai has three "ends". สุดsùt is the very end, as far as you can go: สุดซอยsùt sawy, the end of the soi, and also "utmost", as in ที่สุดtîi-sùt, the most, and สุดท้ายsùt-táai, last. ปลายbplaai is the end part of something long, a stick or a stretch of time: ปลายเดือนbplaai duean, the end of the month, and ปลายปีbplaai bpii, late in the year, when the weather cools down. ท้ายtáai is the back or the tail: ท้ายรถtáai rót, the back of a car or its boot. The end of a film or a story, when it's over, is จบjòp.
