How to use it

หมั้นmân has a falling tone. A Thai engagement is often a ceremony of its own, where the groom's side presents the ของหมั้นkǎwng-mân, gold and jewellery, and the สินสอดsǐn-sàwt, the bride price for the bride's parents. Many couples now hold the engagement and the wedding on the same day.
