faculty (of a university); group, body noun
- ká high
- ná high
- High: start high and go a little higher, a bit tense; don’t let it fall.
How to use it
At a Thai university you belong to a คณะká-ná, a faculty, and students ask each other เรียนคณะอะไรrian ká-ná à-rai where English speakers would ask "what's your major?". Your subject within the faculty is your เอกèek, your major.
Outside the university, คณะká-ná is an organised group or body: a tour group, a delegation, a committee, คณะกรรมการká-ná-gam-má-gaan, or the cabinet, คณะรัฐมนตรีká-ná-rát-tà-mon-dtrii.
