Forget it in Thai

“Forget it” in Thai is ช่างมันchâang man.

ช่างมัน châang man

forget it, let it go, whatever phrase

  • châang falling
  • man mid
  • Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”

How to use it

ช่างมันchâang man, roughly "let it be", drops something that isn't worth the stress: a lost umbrella, a rude driver, a plan that fell through. Keep it for your own small troubles: about someone else's problem it sounds dismissive, and the kinder word is ไม่เป็นไรmâi bpen rai, never mind. Said about a person, ช่างหัวมันchâang hǔa man is ruder, "to hell with him", so keep it for venting with friends.
