How to use it

ผมpǒm is the hair on your head, with the same sound and spelling as ผมpǒm, the word men use for "I": context keeps them apart. A haircut is ตัดผมdtàt pǒm, washing your hair has its own verb, สระผมsà pǒm, and grey hair is ผมหงอกpǒm ngàwk.

Hair anywhere else on the body, and an animal's fur, is ขนkǒn. Eyelashes are ขนตาkǒn-dtaa, "eye hair", but eyebrows have their own word, คิ้วkíu.
