How to use it

ข้อมูลkâw-muun is information and data, from an answer at a counter to the files on your phone. Forms ask for ข้อมูลส่วนตัวkâw-muun sùan-dtua, personal details, and to look something up is หาข้อมูลhǎa kâw-muun.

The information desk at a mall, hospital or station is ประชาสัมพันธ์bprà-chaa-sǎm-pan, "public relations". And be careful with callers who ask for your data: phone scams are common enough in Thailand to have their own name, แก๊งคอลเซ็นเตอร์gáeng kawn-sen-dtôe, call-centre gangs.
