How to use it

อย่างนั้นyàang nán, "that kind", points back at something said or done: อย่าพูดอย่างนั้นyàa pûut yàang nán, don't say that. ถ้าอย่างนั้นtâa yàang nán, "if like that", means in that case, and in fast speech it shrinks to งั้นngán or ถ้างั้นtâa ngán. Casual speech often says แบบนั้นbàep nán, "that style". For something here or just shown, use อย่างนี้yàang níi or แบบนี้bàep níi, like this.
