Losing a thing is ทำtam, to make, plus หายhǎai, to disappear, with the thing in the middle: ทำกระเป๋าหายtam grà-bpǎo hǎai, I've lost my bag. Without ทำtam, กระเป๋าหายgrà-bpǎo hǎai just says the bag has gone missing.
Losing a game, a match or a bet is แพ้páe, the same word as "allergic"; winning is ชนะchá-ná. Losing your way is หลงทางlǒng taang.
