How to use it
แก้ตัวgâe-dtua, "fix yourself", has two sides. It's making excuses, explaining away a mistake: ไม่ต้องแก้ตัวmâi dtâwng gâe-dtua, don't make excuses, and an excuse is a ข้อแก้ตัวkâw-gâe-dtua. It's also redeeming yourself after a failure: a team that lost wants a match to แก้ตัวgâe-dtua, and ขอโอกาสแก้ตัวkǎw oo-gàat gâe-dtua asks for another chance. Using something as a pretext is อ้างâang.
