How to use it
ตายแล้วdtaai láew, literally "dead already", is the everyday "oh my god!" or "oh no!", for good surprises and bad: a spill, a shock, a stunning dress. Despite the words it isn't morbid or rude. คุณพระkun-prá, an appeal to the sacred, is "good heavens!", a little old-fashioned and often playful, as in คุณพระช่วยkun-prá chûay. For a quick "oops!", Thais say อุ๊ยúi.
