How to use it

ตำแหน่งdtam-nàeng is a position: a job title, a post in an organisation, a place in a ranking. Job ads list the ตำแหน่งdtam-nàeng on offer, and a promotion is ขึ้นตำแหน่งkûen dtam-nàeng, "going up a position".

It's also a position in space: your phone asks to use your ตำแหน่งdtam-nàeng, your location, although people sending a pin on LINE just say โลเคชั่นloo-kee-chân.
