น้ำมูกไหล náam-mûuk lǎi
runny nose phrase
- náam high
- mûuk falling
- lǎi rising
- High: start high and go a little higher, a bit tense; don’t let it fall.
- Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”
Parts: น้ำมูกnáam-mûuk nasal mucus, snot ไหลlǎi to flow, to run
How to use it
น้ำมูกnáam-mûuk is the everyday word for snot, and ไหลlǎi means to flow, so a runny nose is "snot flows". A blocked nose is คัดจมูกkát jà-mùuk and to sneeze is จามjaam.
For hay fever or a dust allergy, pharmacies sell antihistamines as ยาแก้แพ้yaa gâe páe, "medicine against allergy".
